Hands-on-
Exhibitions

The annual hands-on exhibition aims to promote knowledge, creativity, critical thinking and independence in thought and action. The exhibitions make topics from science, art, everyday culture and architecture tangible and perceptible for children aged 6 to 12.

Flying High

A hands-on exhibition on flying for children ages 6 to 12

Birds, witches, sharks, airplanes, and paper planes can fly, right? In this exhibition the children could take off, for example as a fly, as Icarus, as Supergirl, as an angel—or at least seemed to!
Running time:
  • 30. September 2009 - 21. February 2010
With bikes, they could bring the birds to fly and design their own flying devices following nature’s example. In an airplane, they could find out why oxygen masks are necessary, how pilots communicate with one another and with air traffic control, how to give landing signals to a plane or direct it through the skies like an air traffic controller. They also learnt how large and heavy machines can stay up in the air, how many people work at an airport, and they experimented with hot air balloons and rockets.

Duration: September 30, 2009 to February 21, 2010
