Architecture can change the world. And this process often begins with the small things. The renowned Japanese architect Takaharu Tezuka is convinced that children can learn to master their bodies only when they are permitted to face and surmount threats. The kindergarten he designed in Fuji (Japan) fulfils precisely this challenge: the kids can run around on the large oval roof. The underlying rooms are flooded with light and all have a view of the surrounding natural landscape. The roof is penetrated by gigantic trees on which the children can climb and train their agility and body control.
In his short talk at ZOOM, Takaharu Tezuka will present his kindergarten project and will be available for a discussion session afterwards.
